In 1975, David Lynch, owner of the Lynch Dealership in Burlington, Wisconsin, uncovered a need. Snap-on Tool Corporation was looking to partner with a local dealership that would stock van-style vehicles for Snap-on Tool Franchisees.
While his competitors balked at the idea, Lynch saw a golden opportunity. Soon, Lynch Display Vans (LDV) was born out of the service department at the Dealership.
Fast forward more than three decades, and many things have changed. But one thing has remained the same – an innovative, entrepreneurial spirit is as alive today as it was in 1977. After growing with Snap-on through its first decade, LDV expanded its product offering in the late 1980s to include specialty vehicles sold to law enforcement, emergency response and homeland security professionals.
Today, LDV offers not only Snap-on trucks for sale, but also emergency response vehicles for sale (used and new), mobile command centers for sale (used and new), SWAT trucks for sale (used and new), GSA contract vehicles for sale (used and new), as well as many other specialty vehicle solutions.
With a strong commitment to research and development, LDV has consistently led the market with new product innovations and technological advancements. Today, our specialty vehicle manufacturers have produced more than 20,000 specialty vehicles with 98% still on the road, LDV is the clear industry leader.
